Today We Are Serving Socialism

I have found that it is more difficult than I expected to move from one topic to another. I have actually started and deleted this a couple of times. Restaurants are easy to talk about, politics,  a little more complicated.
I'm doing this for the back story before I move forward with an idea that may or may not capture a nation's attention.  I am not as good of a writer as I am as a conversationalist,  my wit can not find its place in my serious ideas. So be patient as I try to help you understand how I feel about certain things.
The new buzz word of the country is socialism. Democratic socialism to be exact. Sounds cool. I could be in my hipster skinny jeans, wearing a plaid flannel shirt with a beard and say these words and I will probably get laid tonight, maybe. I am old and can't pull that look off anymore but you get the idea.
I did promise that I would do no research and and write from just my opinion on "The World According to Garp". Or Andy, as it is. But I had to dig some. I believe that Communism can work. Hold the phone! Communism without corruption CAN. I am the dishwasher for a company,  my salary is 1000 per month. My boss, his salary is the same. The president of the country, his salary is also 1000. No corruption, no ego. Captain Kirk never threw it in Spock's face that he made more. Some people are just more qualified to do certain jobs than others. Checov almost blew the ship up when he took over in engineering without Scotty.
But that is communism. Marx explained that the natural progression from capitalism would be socialism then communism for the utopian society. His words, not mine.
Tonight we are serving socialism.
Socialism IS revolution. It is taking from those who have a giving to those that want it. Plain and simple. Why has socialism been unsuccessful in the modern world? It is not the goal according to Marx just a transitional stage. The problem with socialism or a revolution is that is usually ends up putting, what could arguably be considered, criminals in charge or everything.
When the Soviet Union collapsed,  the wealth was stolen from the people in the various countries. When the Soviet Union was founded, the wealth was stolen from the ruling family and in both cases, new leaders ruled. The same wealth has be redistributed many times through different hands. And once those new hands have a grasp on the power and wealth, they will not let go of it. It is the main reason why socialism fails.
There are some benefits to it in the transitional stage. As we move from capitalism to socialism. Jobs can be created that will have a lifetime appointment. A position that you could only retire from, not be terminated. Guaranteed income regardless of your productivity or contribution.
All of this is to make your mind fertile enough for me to plant some seeds of change because I do garden as well
Next time I will explain badly how a monarchy works as the background continues. But did you know, the Vatican is actually listed as a monarchy? Making the Pope more of an appointed King rather than a religious leader? Hmmmm
Tune in next time, it might be interesting

Climate Change

No, this has nothing to do with the weather, chemtrails, red tide, or even hurricanes. I'm ready for a change in climate. Things are spiraling out of control so I have shifted my focus for awhile. I have an plan and will do my best to work it. Not going to lie, I'll need some help. A lot. If you see something you like that I post, share or invite your friends to the page.
Give me a few days to outline my proposal, a few days for people to leave my friends list, and a few days for people to decide that they want to be a part of something that will bring about a climate change in our country and around the world.

I will/could never be a supreme court justice

Didn't go to law school, for one.
That's actually the biggest set back.
Yes, my past is a little tainted. I was shot at, in knife fights, run over by a car and the wonderful stories that go with all of that make me a colorful character.  The dredging up the witnesses to these events and their stories would make an amazing mini series. But we will save that for later
I've been trying to bridge my life as it was to my life now and how I see things. The last blog was about restaurant management and I wanted to put that to bed, at least for a time. The political arena is where my focus is. And as always, (read the disclaimer carefully) I do little to no research at all. I do consume information. And I'm very good with numbers.
The numbers will help me make the leap from where I was to where I am going with my opinions .
Many items on the menu at your favorite restaurant are signature items. How they built the company. Then new favorites come and go much to our delight or dismay. You may have like a particular dish and find it suddenly gone. Why? It didn't sell. That simple. Well...not really. Sometimes the tastebuds and demographics shift and a change is needed to reach a new base. Sometimes it was something that sold well in a test for a limited time because it was new and exciting. But how do entrees on a menu have anything to do with politics?
The mainstay, unchanging, signature item of our political menu would be the constitution, the bill of rights. Unwavering, unchanging like the wings at my new restaurant.  Sure we add some new flavors and take away some old ones but the wings are still the same.
My last job, the P word, the omelettes were largely the same in the 30 years but there were some changes. Let's call these amendments. Changes that were necessary at the time and were well received by the general populus.
The world, our country, as we know it is changing, evolving with the introduction of more technology and different ways of life, flavors. We should keep our signature items on the menu,  the things that made the company or country great but we do need to change up some of the slow moving, unpopular, or ineffective choices.
I know I said I am a numbers guy and I promise to share how the numbers fit in. Next time.
